Gbonjubola Abiri is a Consultant Psychiatrist, Lecturer, Managerial Psychologist, EAPA Professional, Professional Speaker, Trainer, Mental Health Content Creator and the CEO of RediMed Consulting Services. She is the co-author of two books- Mental Health in the Workplace’ and the Handbook of Forensic Mental Health in Africa’. She recently pioneered Nigeria’s first one of a kind, Mental Health Advocacy Digital Network- Mental Health with Dr G’ on YouTube. She is a Fellow of the West Africa College of Physicians (WACP), a member of Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), the Employee Assistance Professional Association (EAPA) and the American Psychiatric Association (APA).

She has received trainings from the King’s College London, the University of Washington and the prestigious Harvard University, Boston USA. She also has trainings in psychological therapy interventions of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Passionate about research in Trauma, Child and Adolescent forensic, Women’s Mental Health, and Occupational Mental Health, Gbonjubola is a Mental Health advocate who is driven by the holistic view to health, and as such is a regular voice on various print and electronic media where she utilizes illustrations and indigenous language to reach her audience with content that drives Mental Health awareness, education and empowerment. She currently runs a cartoon column in the Guardian Life Nigeria,: ‘On the couch with Dr G’.

She also uses her knowledge in Psychiatry and Psychology to influence and maximize effectiveness and productivity in the workplace via the Employee Assistance Program (EAP). She is the Director, Women’s Mental Health at the ASIDO Foundation and is a Faculty member at the Lagos MIND. She works with the THR media, as a Sexual and Gender Based Violence Advocate. She is a member of the Global Advisory Council of Joy, Inc and volunteered with the Lagos State Covid-19 Psychosocial Response Team, where she was in charge of Emotional wellness and development of training materials for the healthcare workers.
