The Lagos MiND Hackathon provides a platform for passionate individuals to collaboratively develop innovative solutions addressing mental health challenges in Nigeria.
The LagosMiND Hackathon is a ground-breaking event designed to harness the power of innovation, collaboration, and non-technical solutions to tackle pressing mental health challenges within Lagos and beyond. Mental health is an essential part of well-being, yet many individuals lack access to effective, affordable care and face stigma when seeking help. This hackathon provides a platform for students, professionals, and passionate innovators to develop creative solutions that address these challenges, making mental health support more accessible, destigmatized, and impactful.
The hackathon’s mission is to spark fresh ideas and solutions that meet the diverse needs of communities, particularly those often underserved or overlooked. This year, our focus is on Improving mental healthcare for in-school teenagers and their instructors to empower individuals, families, and educators to understand, manage, and support mental wellness. We believe that innovation in mental health can come from every field, whether it’s through technology, psychology, community engagement, or design thinking.
Over the course of the hackathon, participants will have the chance to work closely with expert mentors, attend an orientation workshop, and gain valuable insights from leaders in mental health, project management, and public health. You’ll work in teams to ideate, create, receive feedback and guidance to refine your projects from mentors, and pitch your solutions.
This year’s theme highlights the importance of Improving mental healthcare for in-school teenagers and their instructors, ensuring that every individual has equal access to quality mental health support regardless of socioeconomic status, location, or background. Participants will focus on creating solutions that are adaptable and scalable, helping to bridge gaps in mental health resources across diverse communities.
