Become a mental health champion

Take the pledge, and change how mental health is spoken about where you are.

Stigma is one of the biggest reasons people in Lagos don't seek help for their mental health. Changing that doesn't require a clinical qualification — it requires people willing to speak differently about it.

A mental health champion is someone who commits to challenging stigma where they find it, listening without judgement, and knowing where to point someone who needs help. It costs nothing and it takes about a minute to sign up.

Take the pledge Ask a question first

Challenge the stigma

Speak up when mental illness is dismissed as spiritual attack, weakness, or something to hide.

Listen without judgement

Be the person someone can tell the truth to. You don't need answers — you need to not flinch.

Know where to point

Keep the Lifeline number to hand: 070 0000 6463. Knowing one number can change an outcome.
