The global mental health community commemorates the World Mental Health Day on the 10th of October every year. This celebration is aimed at raising awareness and increasing literacy of mental health issues around the world, and mobilizing efforts towards the support of mental health. The World Health Organization sets the theme yearly according to prevailing public mental health issues. These themes are designed to be conversation starters that help debunk myths and promote accurate information sharing.
Lagos State joins the international society in honouring this day, as it also provides an opportunity to engage stakeholders in mental health conversations in an attempt to forge a unified front in addressing the mental health needs of the state.
